Even though I am truly a fall / winter fashion person, I am very excited for Spring / Summer trends this year. I haven't written a footwear post in some time now and I'm definitely overdue, I mean, I did spend the 14 years of my career in this business and I'm a shoe and accessories gal at heart.

There are about 5 keys trends you'll see surface for spring footwear, but the one I favour most is the slide and mule trend. Not only are these silhouettes clean and simple, but thy are totally functional as well. Easy on and easy off. I also think the functional aspect of this trend has been more appealing to me recently due to my pregnancy. In addition, closed toe slides and mules make for a great transition footwear item.

Here are some of my early favourites:.

1. Rachel Comey Mars Mule - Got these from one of my favorite boutiques in Gastown (Vancouver, BC), One of a Few. I opted for the nude color because I think it goes well with just about everything.

2. The entire Mansur Gavriel Spring 2016 footwear line - I want every single pair. New York based design label Mansur Gavriel, known for handbag accessories has launched their first shoe collection. A natural progression and growth in the assortment, I can't wait to see some of these in person. Beautiful nubuck suede and pastel colors, my heart is swooning.

3. Loeffler Randall Clo Tassel Mules - These bad boys are going to be my spring staple. I've always been a big fan of tassels and it's the perfect detail on a pair of basic mules.

4. Zara flat slides - In most cases I like a shoe with at least a small lift or heel. But if you are looking to replace your ballerina flats this spring, try a flat slide. These Zara slides are great and also priced right at $59.90.

Hope this gets you excited for spring footwear!
