CELEBRITY | Oscar 2013 Best Dressed Females

This years Oscars was not the best nor the worst however, I personally thought Seth MacFarlane held his own with some zingers and witty banter (although the sound team should probably get fired as it was horrible). The best part of the evening was when he made fun of Christopher Plummer as Captain Von Trapp. I think I almost fell off the sofa laughing so hard, his facial expression was priceless. I also really got a kick out of Ted's appearance while he asked the audience where the Oscar orgy was going to be afterwards. Mark Wahlberg responded with, "I think it's at Jack Nicholson's place".

To be honest, I was disappointed with both Jennifer Lawrence's (Dior Couture) and Anne Hathaway's (Prada) looks. Not sure what the big hype was on both their gowns? J-Law's Dior couture gown looked a little paper marche-y, the fabric looked dated and I didn't like the neck line. However, props to her for her speedy recovery on her small trip and fall when running up to accept her win for best supporting actress. As for Anne Hathaway poor girl, you can kind of tell she wasn't really happy with the front of her dress but played more focused to the back. The two seams sectioned off her mid driff in an awkwad way and her boobs were really pointy. But I'd have to say, I am still loving her short coif and her accessories and her make up were flawless as usual.

Most of the looks I was drawn to were from the ladies that decided to go with lighter hues (white, cream, light gold, heather grey) and I also saw a lot more black and silver sequins oppose to gold. Art deco jewelry was the main attraction on most of these fabulous ladies and there were some hits of red but none of them made my top list this year. Here are my picks for this years 2103 Oscar Red Carpet #BestDressed:

1. Charlize Theron in Dior Couture - Everything about this look was immaculate, from her clean pixie hair cut to her make-up and her Harry Winstons.

2. Stacy Keibler in Naeem Khan - I was a huge fan of Naeem Khan's Fall 2013 presentation at NY Fashion week so I was excited to see something of his worn at the Oscars. The mirrored sequins were all in the right places and accentuated her body perfectly. My favourite part of the dress? The back detail was just to die for.

3. Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen - She looked stunning and glamourous in this beaded floral brocade gown. The halter neckline with the tear drop peep added the right amount of sex appeal.

4. Kristen Stewart in Reem Acra - OK, dispite her looking disheveled, her hair a mess, standing awkwardly (and this is not just because of her bunk foot), and a bruise on her arm...the Reem Acra dress she wore was a hit for me. I'm not one for the whole "princess" look with puffy gowns, but there was just enough tulle peaking through the panels of the leafy detailed dress to make it feminine and flirty. Props to her for hobbling around in crutches wearing that dress.

5. Jennifer Hudson in Roberto Cavalli - Firstly, hello weight watchers, her body is smokin'. Secondly, the color she decided to go with was sophisticated and paired nicely with her hair and make-up and those dazzling blue drop earrings.

6. Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab Couture - She looked Great Gatsby gorgeous in this Elie Saab couture gown. The see through lace was sexy appropriate, no boobs busting out or deep V's that were too deep (bad call Heidi Klum and  Brandi Glanville from the Real housewives). I wished Sandra would have put her hair up as she always wears it down, but overall a very great look for Ms. Bullock.

7. Jessica Chastain in Giorgio Armani - Last but not least, she almost didn't make it on my list. I loved the dress, but I thought it really washed her out. Gold dress, gold nails, ginger hair....It lacked some depth. However, all in all her hair and make-up were radiant and I liked her choice of dainty accessories to go with the dress.
