TRENDS | Pinky Swear, Pinky Rings

Remember when the "Right-Hand Ring" became a popular trend around 2003? The Diamond Information Center began a huge marketing campaign aimed at enhancing the meaning of right-hand rings. The message was loud and clear, "Why wait for a man to put a ring on your finger? Buy one for yourself and wear on your right hand."

Lately we've been seeing "Mid Rings" becoming a popular trend thus many jewellers are now offering rings as small as size 1. Up until the past year, I had the most difficult time finding rings to fit me because a majority of retailers only carried a standard size range of 6 or 7. All I have to say is "Hallelujah" for new trends!

With the influx of smaller size offering in rings, women are adorning rings on all 5 fingers. One of my favourite looks is the PINKY ring. Interestingly enough the history of the pinky ring dates back to the Victorian era, and were worn by both single men and women uninterested in pursuing marriage. Today wearing a pinky ring can mean many other things. Or perhaps it's just another marketing ploy set out by the industry to get more women buying more rings "just because". Either way, I love the look and here are some of my top picks:

1.  Single Hammered Gold Ring, $30 - {Main Image} I found this ring at a flea market in Los Angeles called, The Melrose Trading Post. It's simple and I wear it everyday. You can find ones that are similar {here} & {here}.

2. Sarah Chloe for GOOP, $119  - Gwyneth has an exclusive offer on a classic signet monogram ring by Sarah Chloe available in 18 k gold and silver.

4.  Jennie Kwon Equilibrium Cuff Ring in Gold, $385 - Native of Los Angeles, Jennie Kwon designs the most delicate and dainty rings. If I win the lottery one day, I'm going to buy them all!
