FASHION | Transitioning Into Fall

OK it's August now and sorry to say although I am not ready for "fall weather", I am ready for "fall fashion". So what do you need to keep from spring or have to pick up for fall? Here are a few things that need to go onto you transition list:

1. The sun is still shining although perhaps the temperature has dropped a few degrees. A pair of sunglasses is still in order and if you already have a tortoise shell frame then you are already ahead of the game. I found this great web store that sells all kinds of brands called The Monocle Order and these Thierry Lasry sunglasss fit the bill. $425, style Sexxxy 724.

2. One must have a white button up shirt. I love Primary New Yorks' version of the white button up with the wing tipped back detail, $158.

3. The motorcycle style jacket is still a strong silhouette for fall. If you don't own one yet, invest in one this season. Los Angeles designer Anine Bing makes some gorgeous ones and the details to this particular moto jacket is killer at $1099.

4. It's time (excuse the pun) to move away from the metal band wrist watches. Over sized is still ok, but find yourself a classic wrist watch with a leather band like this one by Daniel Wellington. The dark brown croco band gives it that extra luxurious feel, $199.

5. Anything leather in black leather, but I suggest a skirt. The flirty style of this Vince skirt can be worn in so many different ways. It's a fit flare in buttery soft leather and is flattering on most body shapes. Available at Shop Bop, $585.

6. Black skinnies. Everyone needs to have at least one pair of black skinnies this season. Plain or with detail. James Jeans has a style called the "Moto" and it's got articulated knee details that makes it extra special, $207.

7. Made popular by Celine, the "Trapeze Handbag" shaped structured bag is a must have for fall. Every brand has their own version out. It's part tote, part satchel so it can be used for office, night and travel. The BCBG "Barlowe Satchel" has the right color combinations for this transition period, $545.

8. As long as it doesn't rain, you're still good to go on the open toe footwear. A must have item for your transition wear is the lace up shootie heel. That's right, part shoe and part boot = SHOOTIE (geeky footwear terminology). Zara has one at a great price, $99.

That's all I got for now. Stay tune for more fall trend updates as we move closer into chilly weather season.
